  • A fresh new look

    AMF integrated San Leandro Hospital into Alameda Health System’s multifaceted website, a sophisticated and easily navigated collection of sites. After several years of being offline without a website, San Leandro Hospital is receiving over 1,000 visits per month on its new website since launch in spring 2014.

  • Talbott Teas website

    AMF designed a new website for Talbott Teas to help the company better match its sophisticated brand identity while driving sales. The new site says comfortable, approachable luxury.

  • Second Telly for creativity

    For the second consecutive year, AMF has won a Telly award for creative excellence. For more than a quarter of a century, the Telly winners have been selected by a panel of industry peers. This year, judges reviewed more than 12,000 entries from all 50 states and a number of other countries.

  • A successful rebrand

    The Alameda Health System needed help to rebrand itself in a rapidly changing health care landscape. AMF Media Group's comprehensive strategy increased brand awareness for AHS by 40 percent. Media coverage went from 12-1 negative to 10-1 positive within a year.

    Jamba Juice was looking for a way to promote its spokesman for an enhanced line of fresh juices. AMF came in and produced a spirited video podcast for “Body By Jake’s” Jake Steinfeld that captures his enthusiasm, appeal, and excitement for Jamba Juice.

    Triumph in rebranding

    CHALLENGE:

    Alameda County Medical Center wanted to rebrand and reposition itself as a provider of choice rather than the media-defined image as an urban trauma center for victims of violence.

    SOLUTION:

    AMF conducted extensive research and analysis leading to the introduction of a new name -- Alameda Health System. In addition, AMF introduced a ‘House of Brands’ approach with a bold new logo and color palette for each of the system’s three hospitals. An aggressive media relations program produced positive coverage in local print and broadcast outlets and a cover profile of Alameda Health System CEO in Fast Company magazine.  The ongoing program is marketing the new Alameda Health System to the community through a publicity campaign titled “A New Day in Health.” A series of special events is reintroducing the health care system to the community.

    RESULTS:

    After 12 months, a study by NRC Ticker showed brand awareness for the health system up by 40 percent. Fundraising is also up. Media coverage went from 12-1 negative to 10-1 positive within a year.

    Valley Pregnancy reaches audience

    CHALLENGE:

    The Valley Pregnancy Center in Pleasanton was looking to update its brand. It wanted to get its message in front of a larger audience and engage more effectively with both potential clients and donors.

    SOLUTION:

    AMF designed a lighthearted, visually striking kiosk ad that has been stopping shoppers at the Pleasanton Mall. On the website, AMF redesigned two separate sites to address the specific audiences. On the client-facing site, warmer colors and easier navigation were introduced. New pages addressed the special needs of teens and of men. A new donor-facing site eliminated some URL confusion and allowed more focused content. A new section stressed the professionalism and warmth of the staff.

    RESULTS:

    VPC’s facility is located near the Pleasanton Mall and staffers have made trips there to watch as shoppers encounter the kiosk advertising. They report an unprecedented level of engagement. It's improved business within only two months, with an increase in calls and walk-in appointments. VPC expects to see a similar uptick in engagement as potential clients and potential donors interact with the new sites.

    Kaiser Permanente works

    CHALLENGE:

    CMI is the central think tank of Kaiser. Its sole objective is to improve the quality of care throughout Kaiser’s national network. It’s a tricky job within a corporate culture that operates and self identifies by its respective regions and without an internal communications infrastructure.

    SOLUTION:

    AMF determined that success could be found in rising above the massive amounts of information inside the Kaiser network. As a result, we created a program that offered interactive segments, video, and internal and external web portals. The cornerstone of the content inside each of these vehicles was value. When the CMI brand was reintroduced, its value and attraction throughout the Kaiser network caught fire. Kaiser team members can now keep track of CMI through electronic content, an interdepartmental meeting calendar and educational programs designed to promote premier patient care.

    RESULTS:
    • CMI was fully embraced and utilized across the entire Kaiser Permanente network.
    • AMF was hired for a Phase II to build an external campaign to promote CMI.
    • CMI has been recognized outside of Kaiser as a national thought leader and is now sought after to conduct seminars on patient care best practices across the country.

    Jamba Juice expansion

    Challenge:

    Jamba Juice, long known for its fruit smoothies, was expanding and needed to become a destination for customers at all times of the day. Central to that effort was the successful launch of new products.

    Solution:

    AMF developed an internal communications strategy designed to build passion and commitment among Jamba employees around the company's new vision, strategies and product offerings. An initial assessment found there was room to promote buy-in with field staff who were eager to know more about the products.

    AMF partnered with Jamba to develop the ultimate brand ambassadors by communicating sales expectations and accountability. We built an internal portal, produced new product videos and planned multi-city rollout conferences with product and employee training modules. Together these efforts accelerated product knowledge and brand recognition.

    Results:
    • Grab n' Go was one of Jamba's more successful launches.
    • Stock rose by 25 percent three weeks after launch
    • AMF was hired to perform the same services for the Hot Blends launch and was hired as Jamba's outsourced internal communications firm.

    CHALLENGE:

    BrightRoll is one of the nation's premier video advertising technology platforms. When the company wanted help telling their story to prospective clients, they turned to AMF to find just the right way to showcase the power of their technology.

    SOLUTION:

    AMF went right to the best source - BrightRoll's partners and clients - to produce a series of videos that explain what makes the San Francisco company the leader in its industry. In a series of 60- to 90-second spots, the partners and clients told why they use BrightRoll - the technology, the innovative culture, the reach, the customer service and ultimately the economic benefits.

    RESULTS:

    Turning up the volume

    CHALLENGE:

    The National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA) has 39 chapters nationwide and more than 21,000 members in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. It was planning its annual convention for Orlando in October, 2012, and wanted to assure the event drew media attention – both to grow its brand and effect the conversation -- in the midst of a presidential campaign and in a location where major conventions are a weekly occurrence.

    SOLUTION: 

    AMF created an opening event – a panel discussion on ‘The Power of the Hispanic Market’ – that was impossible to ignore. Panelists included representatives of the Pew Center, the Disney Co. and the national media as well as a mix of political leaders from Florida and the nation. Orlando’s ABC TV affiliate was enlisted as a strategic partner, providing public service announcements, news coverage and financial support. A series of press releases highlighted NSHMBA’s Brillante Awards.

    RESULTS:

    Telemundo, Univision, Orlando Sentinel and two regional business journals provided extensive coverage, including featuring NSHMBA’s CEO. Coverage of the conference reached 218 websites. The Brillante Awards were reported on 200 websites. In addition, NSHMBA reported a 16 percent increase in attendance. The total value of publicity is estimated at $100,000.

    Building a sense of team

    CHALLENGE:

    The HP Enterprise Services team serving the global Agilent account scored high marks in service but needed to raise its level of innovative problem-solving it brought to the client. A key to achieving the goal was to better leverage its own talented personnel through improved internal communication and better promotion of an enabling company culture.

    SOLUTION:

    AMF created HP ALL ACCESS, an internal communications program that included a web portal that became the primary gathering point for the team. It provided customer updates, new product profiles and linked team members across the globe. It also highlighted exemplary customer service and the innovation of individual employees and teams serving the account. Simply put, it built team.

    RESULTS:
    • The Enterprise Agilent team achieved 143 percent of its revenue plan and 111 percent of its profit plan. That represented a 38 percent year-over-year growth in revenue.
    • The team out-performed all other Manufacturing, Energy and Life Science teams at HP.
    • The HP Agilent employee team satisfaction scores rose significantly.
